1. A signal failure ended up disrupting the Western Railway (WR) locals on Sunday morning, coincidentally at the same time when Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu was talking about the punctuality of trains in Dadar.

2. Around 10.50 am this morning, the technical problem with the signal affected all northbound fast and slow trains and forced authorities to cancel over 40 services.

3. The problem was fixed on the fast tracks by 11:30 am, while services resumed on the slow line a few minutes later. Around 12 pm, the services returned to normalcy.

4. The incident also caused a delay of 20 to 30 minutes across 100 services.

5. The delays caused by signal failures in recent times has left commuters miffed. Today’s incident was the second one this week. Earlier, services on WR were hampered on Thursday because of a signal failure near Goregaon station during peak hours.
