Less than 24 hours after veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor was seen leaning out of a Mumbai local train during a promotional stint for the upcoming season of his show ’24’, Western Railway authorities have issued a notice to the production house demanding an explanation on the actor’s ‘stunt’.

“Inspite of the terms and conditions to adhere strictly to safety and security during shoot, Anil Kapoor allegedly seems to be leaning from the footboard of a local train during a promo shoot on July 14,” said an official of Western Railway.

Anil’s act was caught by various commuters and media persons present at the scene. The images were also circulated widely on social media. After the images surfaced, many netizens criticized the actor for his actions and questioned the Railways on how an actor was allowed to get away with it.

As a result, Western Railway has now sought an explanation from the production house Messrs. Market Men Consumer & Events Pvt. Ltd. in this regard.

Anil undertook a short local train journey from Churchgate station accompanied by hordes of fans and media persons in tow to promote his upcoming television action-drama series 24 (Season 2). The show, an adaptation of the popular American TV series with the same name, will mark Anil’s return to the small screen in the role of Jai Singh Rathod. The show will be aired on Colors channel from July 23.

The Western Railway official explained that by leaning out of the running train from the footboard, the actor could inspire youngsters to perform similar stunts. In the past, there have been multiple instances where youngsters have lost their lives or got seriously injured while performing stunts on trains. Railway authorities have regularly campaigned against the same, with little success.

Besides his live action, Anil also interacted with local train commuters and shared photographs of his commute on social media sites.
