Six children recused from sari factory in Byculla, owner goes absconding

The JJ Marg Police yesterday rescued six children, who were forced to work as child labours, from a sari manufacturing unit in Byculla.

The children were rescued during a raid which was conduced under the supervision of Manoj Sharma, DCP, Zone I.

The police, on complaint of an NGO, raided the unit situated on the second floor of Jamnagar Halai Memon building near Jamat Khanna at 60 Ismail Curtay Road and rescued the children.

Sources say that the kids were kept in a very bad state and were even denied proper medical facilities by the owner, who’s currently absconding.
