On Friday, Google and RailTel announced the launch of the free Wi-Fi service at 9 more stations across the country.

Mumbai Central was the first station in the country to receive the free Wi-Fi in January. At the time, Google had announced it’s plans of rolling out the service across 100 stations, of the total 400 planned, by end of 2016.

The 9 new stations were the facility was launched are:

  • Bhubaneswar
  • Bhopal
  • Ernakulum Jn
  • Kacheguda
  • Pune
  • Ranchi
  • Raipur
  • Vijayawada
  • Vishakhapatnam

Google’s Wi-Fi service is built over RaiTel’s fibre network and designed to offer a high-speed broadband experience.

Google, in an email statement, said that it is committed to work with Indian Railways and RailTel to deliver high-speed Wi-Fi network that will be available to 10 million Indians a day by the end of 2016.
