In a unique initiative, the Shiv Sena has started a medical campaign of an altogether different kind in South Mumbai.

Instead of organising a health camp where people can walk-in to get their check-up done, the party volunteers, along with a team of doctors, is visiting every household in Ward No. 218 in Colaba.

The door-to-door medical check-up has been organised by the party to reach out to more and more people in the area.

It is said as the area is inhabited with people from the upper strata of society who usually don’t prefer standing in long queues to get a free medical check-up at camps, this initiative has been undertaken by the party.

However political experts believe that it’s just a ploy to build rapport with the local residents before the upcoming civic elections, which will be held in a few months.

They also allege that it is party is copying the Aam Aadmi Party’s idea of election campaigning where leaders and volunteers go door-to-door, meet every voters in a household several times, and convince them to vote for their party.

Whatever it is, for now, it’s the Colaba residents who are reaping the benefits of this unique campaign; and will they party of the party in the most anticipated BMC elections, only time will say.
