1. On Sunday, Malvani police felicitated an auto driver Jairam Kharwal for returning valuables left behind by a customer.

2. Amit Nair had boarded Kharwal’s autorickshaw on Saturday to travel from Madh-Marve Road to Malvani when he accidentally left his bag in the rickshaw. The bag contained some important papers and electronic items amounting to Rs 50,000.

3. As soon as Nair realised that his bag was missing, he approached the Malvani police station to lodge a complaint.

4. The Malvani police contacted Anil Vishwakarma, a member of Mumbai Autorickshaw Taximen Union, who told the police that Kharwal had already informed him about a bag that a customer had forgotten.

5. The police then contacted Kharwal, who handed over the bag with all it’s contents to Nair, and was felicitated by Malvani police for his honesty.
