Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ was released on June 17 amidst a massive controversy involving the Censor Board. The film is co-produced by Anurag Kashyap.

Now, the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ director has found himself in a tight spot again. His upcoming flick, ‘Haramkhor’, which deals with a romantic relationship between a teacher and a teenage student, has already run into Censor trouble.

Pahlaj Nihalani-led Censor Board has refused to certify the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer on the grounds that ‘it shows the education department in bad light.’ It has also stated that the illicit relationship between a teacher and a young student is not acceptable in Indian society.

According to a New Indian Express report, the board has also raised objection over vulgar dialogues spoken by the students, their body gestures and bold scenes in ‘Haramkhor’. The makers are now planning to approach the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT).

Helmed by Shlok Sharma, ‘Haramkhor’ is being co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has also won the Best Actor award for the film at the New York Indian Film Festival.
