Around 2 pm on Friday, an Air India Boeing 777-200LR aircraft rammed into an aerobridge at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

The incident occurred after the Air India flight 922 landed at Mumbai airport from Riyadh and was being taxied towards the parking bay. According to ANI, the guidance system displayed incorrect information while parking the flight, leading to the collision.

The aircraft’s left wing and left engine came in contact with the stationary aerobridge during the collision. The aerobridge is used by the passengers to board the flight.

The aircraft’s rotary blades and wing suffered minor damage after coming in contact with the aerobridge.

Fortunately, no passenger was hurt during the incident and the plane was swiftly taxied away later. No delays or disruptions were reported.

Update: Both Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) and Air India have denied any error on their part. MIAL has blamed the flight operator’s staff for incorrectly guiding the plane, while an Air India official has stated that the plane was maneuvered incorrectly due to the error in MIAL’s guidance system.
