Deepika Padukone

After a long and exhausting shooting schedule abroad, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone finally returned to her Worli home a few days back.

Deepika, who was busy shooting for her Hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel in ‘xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage’ in the west, recently told a leading daily that she had rented an apartment during the entire period. And contrary to one would expect from Bollywood’s leading lady, she even did her own chores throughout her stay there.

While talking about the experience, Deepika was quoted saying, “I feel it’s always nicer to do that when you stay away for so long. You want to come back, and make a certain space which is your own.”

When the reporter asked the leggy lass if there’s anything that she was missing after returning home, she responded by saying, “The one thing I enjoyed doing the most while I was away, was doing my laundry myself. And I’m serious about it. There’s a lot more structure in their timings, which allows you your weekends. I was very happy. I would go grocery shopping, I would cook and I would do my own laundry. I love doing all that myself.”

The ‘Piku’ actress, who is known for her love of South Indian food, even carried her sambhar and rasam masala powders with her. Reportedly, the actress frequented plenty of north Indian restaurants from the neighbourhood during her stay. But, if there was one thing that she was dearly missing there, it was South Indian food. So, the actress simply carried the ‘secret ingredients’ she needed from here, went grocery shopping in her neighbourhood and cooked some delicious food for herself at home.
