Parts of south Mumbai along with most of western suburbs will face a partial water cut on Saturday as Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) plans to carry out work at pumping station at Bhandup Complex.

The water supply will be restricted as the civic body plans to carry out the replacement work on the 1200 mm diameter Butterfly Valve at pumping station at Bhandup Complex.

The proposed work will start at 9 am on Saturday (March 4) and is expected to complete by 1 am on Sunday (March 5). During the 16 hour period, the water supply to Mumbai city will be curtailed.

There will be a 20 percent water cut in south Mumbai areas like ward A (Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Nariman Point), C (Bhuleshwar, Pydhonie), D (Tardeo, Girgaum, Walkeshwar), G-South (Worli, Lower Parel), G-North (Dadar, Mahim, Shivaji Park)

In addition, the entire western suburb from Bandra to Dahisar will also face a 20 percent water cut.

The civic body has, meanwhile, requested citizens to store sufficient amount of water in advance and co-operate with the administration.
