Three women sustained minor injuries after a tree fell on they house they were in at Thane’s Indira Nagar area on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident took place around 1 pm today.

According to preliminary information, the tree fell on a house located near Sanjay Gandhi Ground in Indira Nagar, Wagle Industrial Estate at Thane (West). The house is owned by Ram Vilas Yadav.

At least three women sustained injuries in the mishap and were rushed to Siddhivinayak Hospital in Vartak Nagar for treatment.

The women have been identified as Mamta Yadav (right hand injured), Phulmati Parmar Singh (right leg injured) and Nanda Lal Shah (head injury).

Officials from Thane Municipal Corporation’s (TMC) disaster management department reached the spot immediately after the incident and are currently working on removing the tree from the debris.

As of writing this, it is not clear if the tree fell on its own and whether it was among those that needed attention ahead of monsoon.
