A massive fire broke out at a garment godown in Mumbai’s Kalbadevi area on Friday evening. It was the second fire related mishap in the city today.

Details:

Location: According to preliminary information, the fire broke out at a garment godown located at Dabholkar Wadi on Kalbadevi Road in Kalbadevi.

Time: The mishap took place around 4 pm, following which fire department was alerted about the incident.

Severity: Fire officials reached the spot with three fire tenders to douse the flames.

Cause of fire: The cause of fire is not yet known.

Casualties & damage: No casualties have been reported in the mishap, although a heavy loss of goods and property is estimated.

Current status: Firefighting is over and the blaze has been brought under control as of publishing this report.

Further details about the incident are awaited.

Two back to back fire related mishaps took place in the city today. In the other instance, a massive blaze had broke out at Royal Karan Techno Park building located at High Tech Commercial Park near the Sakinaka Metro station in Andheri East.

Yesterday, a farsan shop in Thane’s Dombivali was completely gutted in a similar blaze.
