It’s a girl! Shahid, Mira become 1st time parents

On Friday, actor Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput became proud parents as they welcomed their first child, a baby girl.
The baby, weighing 2.8 kg, was born at the Hinduja hospital in Khar around 8 pm yesterday. Both Mira and the child are reportedly safe and in a healthy condition.
As soon as the news broke, the proud father took to his micro-blogging account to share the news with his friends and fans.
She has arrived and words fall short to express our happiness. Thank you for all your wishes.

According to reports, Mira was admitted to Hinduja Healthcare Surgical Hospital in suburban Khar on August 24 ahead of her delivery. It was said that the child was expected to be born around mid-September. However, a source from the hospital confirmed that the delivery was normal and both mother and child were doing fine.
Shahid has been by Mira’s side ever since she was admitted earlier this week. The mother and daughter are expected to get discharged by next week.
The couple had an arranged marriage and tied the knot in July last year. Shahid publicly announced about becoming a father during the trailer launch of ‘Udta Punjab’. Later in April, Mira was spotted at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai with a baby bump.
The entire Kapoor family is ecstatic since the delivery and have been making frequent visits to meet the new-born.
Shahid’s friends from the industry, Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia, all took to their respective Twitter accounts to shower blessings and congratulate the happy couple.
