Akshay Kumar praises constable Pawan Tayde for rescuing woman at Lonavala station
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar lauded the work of a police constable, who on Monday, rescued a young woman who had fallen off the train and got in the platform gap at Lonavala station. The woman, miraculously, escaped unhurt.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Monday when Kakinada Express, which was travelling from Pune to Mumbai, was leaving the Lonavala train station. The episode was captured on the station’s CCTV.
The CCTV footage shows a female commuter losing her balance while jumping off a train as it leaves the station. The lady falls off the train and gets partially stuck in the gap between the platform and the moving train.
Fortunately, a Maharashtra Police constable came to her rescue and pulled her towards the station in the nick of time. The constable, Pawan Tayde, is attached with Lonavala station.
Another man fell off the train at the same time, but landed safely. Neither the man nor the woman suffered any major injuries.
Pawan’s act of bravery earned him accolades from from ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar, who took to his microblogging account to thank the constable for saving the woman’s life.
“Had my heart in my mouth literally! Salute to constable Pawan Tayde of Lonavala police station for his presence of mind and swift action,” Akshay tweeted.

Incidentally, Akshay is among the fittest actors in Bollywood and has also played the role of a cop in various movies like Mohra, Rowdy Rathore and Khakee. The actor will be next seen in his Tamil debut, Shankar’s 2.0, which also stars Rajinikanth.
The 49-year-old has always been very verbal about appreciating good deeds of public servants.
