Bollywood actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn’s upcoming co-production ‘Parched’ will be hitting the screens on September 23. It will be released in India under the banner of Ajay Devgn FFilms.
Helmed by Leena Yadav, ‘Parched’ stars Radhika Apte, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Lehar Khan in lead roles. It premiered at the Special Presentations section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
The film has received critical acclaim and already won several accolades across International film festivals.
Devgn announced the film’s release date on his micro-blogging account. “Presenting ‘Parched’ – 18 awards, 24 international film festivals across continents. Releasing September 23. Trailer on September 9,” Ajay tweeted on Sunday.
The film revolves around four women living an unwanted life in a village of north-western region of India, which still suffers from old, age-ridiculed traditions like forced child marriages and other social issues like financial difficulties, spousal and familial rape, and physically and emotionally abusive alcoholic husbands.
Prior to the announcement of its official release date, the film had garnered a lot of media attention when two scenes from the film’s international version featuring partial nudity had leaked online.Back to latest news
