Shaan replaced as judge for season 2 of ‘The Voice India’
Shaan, who was a judge on the first season of &TV’s popular show ‘The Voice India’, will reportedly no longer be a part of the upcoming season. The shocking part for the singer, though, might be the fact that the information leaked in the media before he was ‘officially’ told about it.
A source close to the development told SpotboyE, “Shaan is already a judge on The Voice India Kids, another &TV show. Endemol (producer) is looking out for a replacement who can step into his shoes. However, Shaan has yet not been told about this — neither by Endemol nor &TV.”
According to sources, either Vishal Dadlani or Salim Merchant will be roped in as replacement.
Unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first time the channel has sacked a judge on their show without informing them. According to one report, the makers had roped in Neeti Mohan in place of Sunidhi Chauhan when she asked for a fee hike without even informing her.
Chauhan was told by the makers that they would revert with their offer after discussing it internally. Instead, they hired a replacement for her during the negotiation period. Meanwhile, Chauhan had no clue that she was being replaced. But when the ‘Ruki Ruki’ singer learnt about the replacement, she was sure to give producers an earful for their lack of professional courtesy.
The show, which first aired in 2015, featured Bollywood singers Shaan, Himesh Reshammiya, Mika Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan as the coaches and was hosted by Karan Tacker.
An official announcement pertaining to the show’s upcoming season is expected soon.
