Dombivli resident finds mahurat for killing cousin suspected of having affair with wife, arrested
In a bizarre incident, a 34-year-old man approached a tantrik to know the most auspicious time to murder his cousin brother, who he suspected of having an affair with his wife. The victim, identified as Satish Rasal, was found murdered in his car on Friday.
Cops learnt about Satish’s death from an auto rickshaw driver who saw the victim dead in his car while he was driving past Galaxy Furniture Hub in Dombivli. The killer had slit his throat.
When police arrived on the spot, they found Satish’s wallet and mobile phone missing. They later learnt that the victim was a resident of Dombivli (East) and survived by his wife and three daughters.
During investigation, they also came to know that his cousin’s wife had gone missing four years back, but the family never filed a complaint. Instead, the husband, Jaideep Rasal, approached his friend Chandan Gaikwad, who in turn asked him to consult Baba Parshuram Patil.
Patil assured Jaideep that his wife was alive and well. He also told him that she will contact him again in future. Four years passed, but his wife never contacted him.
However, Jaideep’s faith in baba Patil was reinstated after his wife contacted him via a friend recently. She claimed that she was missing her children and wanted their pictures. While the husband was ecstatic initially, his joy short lived as he soon found out that she had been in touch with his cousin Satish for the past 6 months.
Jaideep suspected that Satish was having an affair with his wife, which angered him and prompted him to approach the baba. He wanted to know the best time to murder his cousin, to ensure that everything went smoothly. Patil told him Thursday night was the best time for the deed.
Jaideep took the help of his friend Chandan and made a plan to meet Satish on Thursday night. When they met, Jaideep offered him beer. After the two finished drinking, he slit Satish’s throat and fled.
After killing Satish, both Jaideep and Chandan went to the baba and handed him the weapon to hide. The weapon was later recovered by the police.
Jaideep, Chandan and Baba Patil were arrested by Thane Crime Branch (Unit III) and handed over to Manpada police, who booked the offenders under Sections 302 (Murder), 397 (robbery or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt), 120 B (conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
