Malad woman files complaint against husband, in-laws after miscarriage

A 25-year-old housewife has filed a complaint against her husband and in-laws after having a miscarriage.
In her complaint to Kurar police, the Malad (East) resident has alleged that her miscarriage was a result of the physical and mental harassment at the hands of her in-laws.
The complainant, identified as Umme Habiba Ansari, told the police that when she was 8-10 weeks pregnant, her husband and in-laws fought with her over some domestic issue and questioned if the child she was carrying actually belonged to her husband.
The family, residents of Sanjay Nagar in Malad, didn’t stop at accusations. Umme claims that she was threatened, abused and beaten by them. She was even kicked in the stomach, because of which she had to get admitted to the hospital.
Umme stayed at the hospital for a week, during which she suffered a miscarriage. As soon as she got discharged, she approached Kurar police station and filed the complaint.
Following her complaint, cops registered a case against the husband and her in-laws. While the investigation is underway, Umme has shifted to her parent’s house.
No arrests have been made till now.
