Dr. Ambedkar’s grandson calls for state-wide bandh on Wednesday

Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) leader and grandson of B.R Ambedkar, Prakash Ambedkar, has demanded a Maharashtra bandh on Wednesday to protest the state government’s failure to curb violence at Bhima Koregaon in Pune.
“The judicial inquiry ordered by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is not acceptable to us. The government should request to the chief justice of Bombay High Court to appoint sitting judge to probe this incident,” Prakash was quoted saying.
“The judge should have the powers to collect the evidence and to punish the culprits. The inquiry should be conducted by a non-Dalit judge,” he added.
He also claimed that the people responsible for the riots in Pune were related to ruling parties, including Sambhaji Bhide of Shivraj Pratishthan and Milind Ekbote of Hindu Ekta Aghadi, adding that over 250 organisations will support tomorrow’s bandh.
