FYJC 2016: Final round begins today
The final special round for the First Year Junior College (FYJC) online admissions for 2016 starts today, August 27.
Students who are either unhappy with their existing colleges, wish to change their stream or have chosed a wrong subject are eligible to participate in this round.
Like the previous two special rounds, students will have to purchase fresh IDs and password from the guidance centers till August 30. Initially, students will have to login via their old login credentials and then use the new one.
Candidates can fill the new form online from August 29 to August 30 (midnight). The updated list of vacant college seats will be made available on the University website shortly.
The merit list for the final round will be declared at 5 pm on August 31. Admissions under the final round can be confirmed on September 1 and September 2 between 10 am to 5 pm.
Under the second special round, 22,273 of the 25,723 students were allotted seats. Of them, 9,910 students got admission in a college listed as their first preference, 3,162 students were allocated second preference and 2,008 the third preference. Most allotments, over 14,000, were in the commerce stream.
Since the results of the re-exam held in July are yet to be announced, the education department will announce another list specially for those students.
The third special round, however, is the last opportunity for those who cleared the exam in March this year to secure a seat in a city college, confirmed Rajendra Ahire, Assistant Deputy Director of Education, Mumbai.
S Chandekar, Secretary of the Board’s Mumbai division also said that the results of the July re-exam are likely to be announced next week. Following which, the dates for their admission round will be declared. Their admission process is expected to conclude by mid-September.
