Did Big B just troll Andrew Flintoff or it’s the other way round?
Virat Kohli’s magnificient 82 not out off 51 balls helped the Men in blue storm into the semi-finals of the World T20 tournament with a sensational six-wicket win over Australia in the virtual quarter-final at Mohali on Sunday.
While Kohli’s winning knock received acknowledgement from across the world, it also led to an interesting conversation between Superstar Amitabh Bachchan and former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff.
It all started when Flintoff compared Kohli to the England cricket star Joe Root tweeting-
# Flintoff- At this rate @imVkohli will be as good as @root66 one day ! Not sure who @englandcricket will meet in the final now !
Flintoff’s tweet did not go down well with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who was one of the celebrities to comment on Kohli’s performance-
# Big B- T 2188 – @imVkohli you were brilliance times infinity !! Pure genius. Thank you for tonight ! And may many more such nights come our way !!
Taking a potshot on Flintoff, Big B who is very active on social media replied tweeting-
# Big B- @flintoff11 Root who ? Jad se Ukhad Denge Root ko ..!!!
Avoiding further confrontation with Mr Bachchan, Flintoff came up with his very own cheeky response-
# Flintoff- Sorry who’s this ? (followed by a light hearted tongue in cheek emoji)
Within seconds, Flintoff was attacked by a flurry of abuses by Indians on twitter, which led to him writing this:
# Flintoff- Getting a taste of what it is like to be @piersmorgan, some abuse flying about ,some people just don’t understand the term “tongue in cheek”
