Mum files FIR against Sheetal Mafatlal, reclaims Pali Hill bungalow
Socialite Sheetal Mafatlal has found herself in yet another legal battle. This time, with her mother Rajani Bhagat, who has now filed a complaint of trespassing at the Khar police station against her after Sheetal allegedly took forceful possession of the Rs 100 crore Pali Hill bungalow.
Earlier it was reported that Sheetal demanded tenancy rights to the 20,000-sq ft bungalow and barged into the house with the help of a few bouncers in the absence of her mother.
On Thursday, when Rajani Bhagat, who had been on a pilgrimage, returned to Mumbai, she found access to the two-storey bungalow blocked by six bouncers deployed by Sheetal.
The Page 3 socialite apparently did not let any cars enter the gate. Left with no other option, Rajani called the police helpline for senior citizens and sought immediate action. Police officers arrived at the spot and removed the bouncers. They opened five rooms, including a library, which had been locked up by Sheetal.
According to Sheetal’s lawyer, however, Poonam attacked her with a hammer after the officer’s left and locked her up in a room. The socialite was even denied access to food and water. Sheetal’s legal team plans to file a complaint for attempt to murder against them on Friday morning.
In her mother’s absence, Sheetal has also installed six CCTV cameras on the premises and monitors the footage from the guestroom.
A first information report has been filed against Sheetal after Rajani Bhagat’s complaint of trespassing.
Prior to the barging in episode, Sheetal had filed a suit in the Small Causes Court at Bandra on Monday, seeking tenancy rights to the bungalow, which was built by her father Manhar Bhagat, the founder of polyester filament yarn manufacturer Nirlon.
