It’s been over a year since John Abraham was confirmed as one of the male leads for the third instalment of ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise, but the actor claims he has no clue about the development on the movie.
“Today, at this point, I don’t know if it is happening or not. I don’t think it is happening but I am not sure,” John told .
The third installment of the 2000 hit was announced a year back, with Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. However, the producers are yet to start shooting for the project due to alleged financial constraints.
The first film, which is considered by many as the best Bollywood comedy film, starred Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. It was helmed by Priyadarshan and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. The same cast returned for the film’s sequel, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’.
Since Nadiadwala was supposed to produce the third instalment, John said he’s the right person to talk to about the film. “Firoz Nadiadwala is the right person to answer that question. If you get an answer please tell me because I genuinely don’t know anything about the film. He is the best person to have an idea,” John said.
“We launched the film. I heard Abhishek Bachchan dropped out but I have not communicated on this with him. It’s producer’s prerogative to tell us what is happening.”
The ‘Desi Boyz’ star, however, said that if the film goes on floor he would love to be a part of it.
John latest release ‘Dishoom’, which also starred Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez, hit theaters last week and is enjoying a good run at the box-office.Back to latest news
