Katrina Kaif is jumping on to the social media bandwagon

Unlike most Bollywood celebrities, actress Katrina Kaif is among the handful few who has resisted the temptation of joining social media all this while. But, if a recent report is to be believed, that’s about to change very soon.

According to report published in a leading daily, the actress is giving serious thought to jumping the bandwagon and creating a social media account to stay connected with her fans.

A source close to the actress told DNA, “Katrina was not convinced about joining social media but she now realises that it’s one of the most powerful tools to convey one’s thoughts and opinions and she has decided to jump in and test the waters. The first film that she will promote on social media is Baar Baar Dekho, which releases in September.”

However, the actress isn’t just joining social media to promote her films, “Her reasons for joining the social media are more personal than professional. She wants to have a platform to say what she wants, and also connect with her fans directly,” adds the source.

The daily’s source also confirmed that the ‘Phantom’ actress will join the world’s biggest social network first, “First, she plans to join Facebook and Insta (Instagram) and then she will make her presence felt on Twitter. She wants to start with a personalized introduction on FB. She will be handling the accounts herself and not through managers or a digital company.”

The stunning actress will reportedly join the virtual world on her upcoming birthday on July 16. So, if you are a die-hard fan of the actress, you might be able to wish the actress directly on her birthday this time around.
