Stray dogs devour abandoned 4-month-old foetus in Nallasopara
Residents of Oswal Nagari in Nallasopara (east) woke up to a horrific sight yesterday morning, as they saw stray dogs running on the streets with parts of human flesh in their mouths.
The disturbing sight led the residents to a four-month-old foetus wrapped in a black plastic bag and dumped in a garbage pit. People shooed the dogs away who were fighting over a bite of the foetus and alerted the Tulinj police.
The police called the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation doctors, who said the 250 gms foetus could be four-months-old and since it was not fully formed, it was difficult to ascertain the gender. They have sent the foetus for post mortem.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case under Sections 312 (causing miscarriage) of the IPC against unknown persons and are investigating the case.
