Thane Corporation will use robots for cleaning water tanks
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is reportedly set to buy a robot that will assist in cleaning of its water storage tanks. This machine will enable the water department to do cleaning work without cutting off the water supply.
At present, every time a water tank is to be cleansed, the department has to cut off water supply of the particular area in order to avoid water contamination. But with help of the robot, the process will become a lot more efficient since the cleaning process can continue while the water is being supplied.
The civic body is reportedly willing to invest Rs 2.5 crore for acquiring the robot.
If all goes well, this is will reduce the vexation caused by water cuts among Thane’s residents.
