2 dead, 6 injured in car mishap; were travelling to Thane to attend funeral

Two people of a family were killed and six others were injured after their car met with an accident in Thane district on Monday evening.
The mishap took place on the Mumbai-Agra highway in Asangaon yesterday evening.
According to officials, the speeding car suffered a tyre burst following which the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car subsequently hit a divider and overturned.
Prakash Bhavar (55) and Suman Toche (60), both related, died in the mishap. Six others, meanwhile, sustained injuries for which were rushed to a government-run hospital in Sahapur.
All the victims hailed from Nashik and were travelling to Thane to attend a funeral.
“The victims, all from Nashik, were going to attend a funeral in Thane. Two of them died while six others received injuries in the mishap,” an official said.
Sahapur police station have registered an accidental death case in the matter.
