6 luxury cars gutted in fire at service centre near Mahalaxmi station
At least six high-end luxury cars were gutted in a fire that broke out a service centre in Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi area on Wednesday night.
According to sources, the blaze broke out during the wee hours when there were no staffers around. The service centre is located near Mahalakshmi railway station on the Western line of the suburban rail network.
Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot following the blaze, which was doused after an hour of firefighting operations. Cooling operations, however, continued till early morning.
While no casualties were reported, at least six cars – including a Porsche sportscar and a Mercedes E Class – were gutted in the blaze. The premises, along with the electrical fittings and equipment, was also completely damaged.
The cause of fire is not yet known. Further details are awaited.
