60 yr old dies in Bandra high-rise elevator collapse
The elevator of a residential high-rise in Mumbai’s Bandra area collapsed on Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of a 60-year-old man.
According to sources, the incident took place around 8:45 am at Everest Apartment, located on Hill Road, Bandra West.
The victim, identified as Radhesham Harijan, was the only occupant of the lift when it collapsed. He was rushed to Bhabha Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Bandra police has launched a probe to ascertain if the mishap was caused due to negligence on the part of the society, following which a case under relevant sections will be registered.

The incident comes less than a day after four persons were injured in a similar incident at Shanti Sagar society in Ramabai Nagar, Ghatkopar (East). The lift collapsed from the fourth floor of the building after its wire snapped, injuring the lift’s four occupants.
Fortunately, none of the occupants – Komal Dalvi (18), Rupali Gaikar (23), Sunita Ingle (28) and Vinayak Dalvi (43) – sustained any major injuries.
