Fire breaks out at leather showroom in Reay Road
A massive fire broke out at a leather showroom in Mumbai’s Reay road area during the wee hours of Saturday. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Prima facie, the blaze appears to have originated at a ground plus one-storey structure behind Liza Shopping Mall, located at Barrister Nath Pai Marg near Nariyalwadi cemetery, besides Reay road Railway station.
Eight fire engines and six water tankers were pressed into service to control the blaze. One ambulance was also rushed to the spot.

While no citizen casualties were reported, one fireman was injured during the operation and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The blaze has been doused as of publishing this report.
The incident took place hours after a major blaze broke out near the Income Tax Office located at Scindia House in Mumbai’s Fort area on Friday evening.
