The level-II blaze broke out around 5 pm on Thursday

A fire broke out on the set of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film ‘Zero’ in Mumbai’s Film City on Thursday evening.

The fire originated at the Reliance Media work set 3 at Film City, Goregaon (East) around 5 pm. According to police, the actor was present on the set when fire broke out, but was unhurt and left the set later.

There are no reports of any casualty, Vinay Rathod, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said, adding that the cause of fire is not yet known.

Several eye-witnesses saw smoke was seen billowing out of the studio.

At least four fire engines and five water tankers were rushed to douse the Level-II blaze. The fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, lights, shooting materials, ropes, and curtains.

Zero is slated for release on December 21. In the film, Shah Rukh Khan plays a vertically challenged man who falls in love with a NASA scientist.

The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Abhay Deol, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Javed Jaffrey and R Madhavan.
