Update
(12:22 pm): The fire was caused due to a short circuit at Victoria House and was brought under control before fire brigade officials arrived, a BMC official said, adding that no one was injured in the mishap.
The compound had witnessed a similar incident in July when a fire had broken out inside the B-Wing of Trade World building. The blaze did not result in any loss of life and was brought under control swiftly by the fire department.
Back in December last year, the Kamala Mills compound witnessed one of the most horrific fire-related incidents in recent time when a massive blaze engulfed two popular pubs, resulting in the death of 14 people and leaving over 50 injured.
