Registration for Tata Mumbai Marathon to start from Sunday, July 29
The registrations for the Tata Mumbai Marathon, to be held on January 20, 2019, are to commence on July 29, race promoters Procam International announced on Friday.
The registrations were symbolically launched at the Raj Bhavan by Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao.
Additionally, the race organisers have tied up with the Abbott WMM Wanda age group world rankings for amateur runners taking part in the full marathon, a media release said.
Registrations for half marathon are to commence on August 2.
A total of 46,000 running places in six different categories – Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.097 km), Dream Run (6 km), Senior Citizens’ Run (4.3 km), Champions with Disability (2.4 km), and a Timed 10K – are on offer.
The race is the largest marathon as the largest mass participation sporting event in Asia. With a prize pool of USD 405,000, it is also the richest race in India, along with being an IAAF Silver Label event.
