The Maharashtra government and CM Devendra Fadnavis are yet to accept or give any credence to Dalit leader Prakash Ambedkar’s call for a state-wide bandh on Wednesday.
The city witnessed massive protests on Tuesday as thousands of Dalits took to the streets and brought it to a standstill in the wake of the Bhima-Koregaon violence.
Although several schools and colleges were shut in Mumbai as a precautionary measure today, it is not known if the government will allow a state-wide bandh to take place and if students & office goers should leave their houses tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a senior police official confirmed that there will be heavy police presence across the city to prevent any untoward incident from taking place.
