Video: Massive fire breaks out in godown at Khan Compound in Shilphata, Mumbra
A massive fire broke out at a godown in Khan Compound in Shilphata around midnight on Tuesday.

Where: The fire broke out at one of the godowns inside Khan Compound on Mumbai-Pune Road in Shilphata near Mumbra in the neighbouring Thane district. According to preliminary information, the godown was being used to store scrap material.
When: The incident took place around midnight.
Severity: A total of three fire engines, three water tankers and a QRV have been pressed into service. More fire engines and water tankers may be deployed.
Casualties and damage: No casualties have been reported as of 1:30 am. However, at least eight godowns in the vicinity have been gutted.
Current status: Officials from police department, regional disaster management cell (RDMC) and fire brigade are on the spot. Firefighting has been underway for over an hour, but the blaze has not been brought under control till now.
Cause: Some locals have alleged that a cylinder blast resulted in the fire, although a confirmation from the fire department is awaited.
