3 cars charred in fire near women’s hostel opposite Utpal Sanghvi school, Vile Parle
Three vehicles parked outside a girl’s hostel in JVPD Scheme near Vile Parle West were completely charred in a fire early Monday morning. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The incident took place around 7:30 am near the Kelavani Masturi Kundangaur Manharlal Girl’s Hostel situated on Parulekar Road, Sainath Nagar in Vile Parle West.
The hostel is located exactly opposite of Utpal Shanghvi School, and is in the vicinity of Juhu PVR and Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow Pratiksha.
The blaze originated from a maroon Tata Indica stationed alongside other parked cars near the footpath.
Although the cause of the fire is not yet known, it soon spread to three adjoining cars – a Honda City, a Skoda Octavia and a Hyundai i10.
Cops arrived at the spot within ten minutes, whereas the fire department, with one fire engine and one water tanker, arrived at the spot roughly 15 minutes after the blaze had started. The fire was was curtailed within minutes and no one was injured.
According to an onlooker, there was a minor delay in dousing the fire owing to an issue with the fire department’s equipment.
The Indica, City and Octavia were completely charred in the blaze, whereas damage was restricted to the boot of the i10.
There were even reports of the hostel being evacuated, but they have not been confirmed.
Further details are awaited.
