Bollywood photographer Jagdish Aurangabadkar commits suicide
Renowned Bollywood photographer Jagdish Kamble aka Jagdish Aurangabadkar allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Goregaon on Thursday.
The body of 65-year-old Jagdish Aurangabadkar was found hanging from the ceiling of his home in Aakruti Society in JP Nagar, police said, adding the incident took place between 9 am and 12.30 pm.
Police Sub Inspector (P.S.I.), Rahul Patil, of Vanrai police station told DNA, “At around 12.30pm, when Aurangabadkar’s tiffin delivery boy knocked the door of his apartment to deliver lunch, he found it open. When he entered inside the house, he found Aurangabadkar hanging. The tiffin service delivery boy then informed the police about the incident.”
“All the evidences at the moment suggest suicide, however, the body has been sent for post-mortem and we’re awaiting results,” Patil added.
The body has been sent to Trauma Centre in Jogeshwari East.
The photographer had been staying alone since his wife and son left him a year ago over a property dispute.
Vanrai police found his organ donation card and six envelopes containing suicide letters in different languages addressed to his friends, thanking them for supporting him. However, he has not blamed anyone for his death in any of the letters.
Police recorded a statement of the delivery boy, Aurangabadkar’s nephew, and his wife. None of them said that he was under depression.
His wife revealed that he was diabetic and would often get wounded, which left him frustrated. When his body was found, he had bandages on both his legs.
Meanwhile, Vanrai police has registered an accidental death case and are probing the matter further.
