Amid reports of real estate slump, businessman Niraj Bajaj has reportedly paid a whopping Rs 120 crore for an apartment in Mumbai’s Worli area. It is touted as the highest amount paid for a single flat in the city.

According to a DNA report, Bajaj purchased a 1,587 sq.metres apartment on the 50th floor of the under-construction Three Sixty West luxury tower on Dr. Annie Besant Road.

The Peddar Road-resident apparently paid approximately Rs 6 crore as stamp duty for registration of the flat in Tower A, which includes eight car parking slots.

Bajaj is a stakeholder in Mukand Ltd, an India-based manufacturer of stainless steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel billets.

His spokesperson told the daily that the flat was bought by Bajaj in his personal capacity. The developer, Vikas Oberoi of Oberoi builders, however, declined to comment on the development.

Earlier, Parle Agro Pvt Ltd had purchased four apartments in the same building for approximately Rs 168 crore. The firm had paid Rs 8.4 crore as stamp duty for the apartments measuring 2,866 sq.metres.

The development comes days reports suggested that cricket team captain Virat Kohli canceled the highly publicised purchase of his Rs 34 crore luxury apartment in the Omkar 1973 project located in Worli.

Kohli had booked the luxury pad, a 7000 sq.ft apartment located on the 35th floor of Tower C, back in June 2016 for Rs 34 crore.
