Complaint filed against Tanmay Bhat for ‘Sachin vs Lata Civil War’ video, police launch probe
Tanmay Bhat mocks Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar in a video
Earlier, we had reported how members of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS) Chitrapat Sena wanted to file an FIR against comedian Tanmay Bhatt for his video titled ‘Sachin vs Lata Civil War’.
In the video, the AIB founder depicted a mock conversation between the two icons. While the comic included a disclaimer stating, ‘Also I obviously love Lata and Sachin, just having some fun’, the use of expletives in the video depicting the nationally acclaimed singer and cricketing legend didn’t go down well with many.
Both BJP and MNS condemned the video, while members of MNS lodged a complaint against the comic at Shivaji Park police station. The members also threatened to beat the comic, claiming that they will not ‘tolerate the way Bharat Ratnas Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar have been treated’.
The Mumbai Police Special Branch has launched a probe into the video.
Meanwhile, ACP Yashwant Pathak from Cyber crime cell told ANI that their department is currently in touch with Google, Facebook and YouTube to block the video.
