Fire breaks out in Titwala-bound local at Dadar station
A fire broke out in a Titwala-bound local train at Dadar station on Saturday evening.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out in the motorman cabin of the 5:43 pm Titwala-bound local. The incident took place as the train entered platform 4 of Dadar station on the Central line.
Railway staff is currently trying to douse the fire. The cause of fire is not yet known.
Slow services on Central line have not been affected, although fast services are running late by a few minutes. Meanwhile, the 6:10 pm Titwala local was cancelled.
There is some overcrowding at Dadar station due to the incident. An official announcement from Central Railway about the incident is awaited.
No casualties have been reported till now. Further details are awaited.
Update (6:40 pm): Both slow and fast locals on the route are running on time.
Update (7:00 pm): The fire had been doused by 6:30 pm following which the train was moved to Kurla carshed for repairs. No one was injured.
