FYJC 2016: August 30 last day to apply for seat under final round
Students who wish to apply for a seat under the final round for the First Year Junior College (FYJC) online admissions 2016 have until midnight tomorrow to fill their new form.
Like the previous two special rounds, interested candidates will have to purchase fresh IDs and password from the guidance centers till August 30. Initially, they will have to login via their old login credentials and then use the new one.
In the new form, students will have to fill minimum 10 and maximum 15 options based on the reservation-wise vacancies in different colleges.
The merit list for the final round will be declared at 5 pm on August 31. Students who are allotted a seat under the round can confirm their admission by paying the fees on September 1 or September 2 between 10 am to 5 pm.
BB Chavan, Deputy Director of Education, Mumbai, confirmed that the third special round will mark the end of the admission process for students who cleared the exams in March 2016. Per the Bombay High Court order, there will be no offline admissions this year.
Till date, around 2.02 lakh students have been allotted seats under the five rounds and two special rounds. While only a few thousand are expected to get a seat in the final round, over 75,000 seats are vacant across city colleges.
Since the results of the re-exam held in July are yet to be announced, the education department will announce another list specially for those students. S Chandekar, Secretary of the Board’s Mumbai division confirmed that the results will be declared this week. Their admission process is expected to wrap up by mid-September.
Most students who clear the re-exam, however, are worried that they will not be left with any good options as most coveted colleges would have exhausted their seats by the completion of the final round.
