Metro between Thane and Mumbai with 32 stations gets CM’s nod

1. Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra government, on Friday, approved a 32-km metro line connecting Mumbai and Thane.

2.The completion cost of the Wadala-Ghatkopar-Thane-Kawarvadavali Metro-4 corridor project is estimated to cost around Rs 14,549 crore.

3.Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave his nod to the ambitious project during a meeting of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

4. The project will help connect Thane and Mumbai with a modern public transport system and have a huge impact on the development of areas around the corridor, stated the press release.

5. The state government plans to complete the project by 2021.
