Western suburbs to face 100% water cut between September 25-26

Most areas in the western suburbs will face a complete water cut between September 25-26 as the civic body works undertakes water pipeline connectivity work.

According to an official communication, the BMC recently finished the construction a the 2,200mm diameter tunnel between Powai to Veravali.

However, work on connecting the surface pipeline to the main supply centre at Bhandup-Maroshi is pending and will be undertaken by the hydraulic department next week.

The proposed work will be carried out in a 24-hour period between 10 am on Tuesday, September 25 to 10 am on Wednesday, September 26.

While the work is underway, water supply to K-West, K-East, H-West, H-East and P-South wards will be affected.

Affected Areas

September 25:

The following areas will face complete water cut from 10 am to midnight.

K-West Ward: Behram Baug, Prathamesh Complex, Yadav Nagar, Jogeshwari West, Millat Nagar, Yari Road Versova, Lokhandwala, 4 Bungalows, Pancham Society, Andheri West, JVPD, Juhu, Juhu Koliwada and Vileparle West.

K-East Ward: Jogeshwari East, Andheri East, and Vileparle East.

P-South Ward: Bandrekarwadi, Ram Nagar, Bimbisar Nagar, SRPF, Force One, Mahananda Dairy, Goregaon East & ODC, Ram Mandir Road and Goregaon West.

September 26:

The following areas will face complete water cut from midnight/4 am to 10 am.

K-West Ward: SV Road Jogeshwari West, SV Road Andheri West, JP Road, Veera Azad Nagar, Gilbert Hill, and Juhu Road.

K-East Ward: Jogeshwari East, Andheri East, and Vileparle East.

H-West Ward: Santacruz West, Khar West, Gazdharbandh, Bandra Station area, Almeida Park and Bazaar Road.

The following areas will have a water supply with low pressure.

H-East Ward: Prabhat Colony, Seva Nagar, Asha Nagar, Jaku Club, Hanuman Tekdi, Santacruz East and part of TPS-III.

The civic body has urged citizens to take note of the water cut and store adequate water in advance.
