BJP leader Rajdhani Yadav was arrested after he allegedly assaulted the District Transport Officer (DTO) of Jharkhand’s Latehar district for removing a nameplate, carrying his name and designation, from his vehicle.
According to officials, the DTO Latehar F Barla intercepted the vehicle of BJP leader-cum-Latehar district vice-president of the 20-point programme and removed the nameplate in the district collectorate premises.
While the nameplate was being removed, Yadav started arguing and later assaulted the DTO, who received injuries and was rushed to Sadar Hospital for treatment. An FIR was registered following the incident, post which Yadav was arrested.
The Deputy Development Commissioner, Anil Kumar Singh said action will be taken against the culprit for obstructing government official from discharging his duty. The incident, which clearly shows the leader assaulting the official, was captured by a bystander.
