Pratyusha suicide: Rahul threatened to jump from the hospital building
Boyfriend and live-in partner of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, Rahul Singh has been discharged from Shri Sai Hospital in Kandivali where he was undergoing treatment for since the past 12 days.
According to a media reports, Rahul locked himself up in the hospital’s washroom on April 15 after coming back from his visit to the police station.
He threatened the doctors that he would jump off the hospital building, after which his relatives called the doctors who finally convinced him to get out of the washroom.
However, Pratyusha’s parents have alleged that the hospital authorities are involved with Rahul and are saving him from police interrogation.
“We think all of them have taken money from Rahul to give him protection and get him bail on medical grounds,” said Pratyusha’s father in a letter he sent to the Indian Medical Association.
Refuting the allegations, Dr Santosh Goel, who runs Shri Sai Hospital in Kandivali, said, “He (Rahul) is still in depression and seriously unwell.”
After the 24-year-old actress allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her flat in suburban Goregaon on April 1, the police have booked Rahul under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC.
And since then he had himself got admitted in the hospital complaining of chest pain and depression.
