Sunriser Yuvraj Singh ruled out of IPL 9 for at least two weeks
What may come as a massive blow to the team and fans, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out of action for the first two weeks of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The doctors couldn’t give Yuvraj a go ahead as he is yet to fully recover from his ankle injury sustained during the T20 World Cup match against Australia.
In response to Yuvraj’s injury, Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody was quoted saying- “A player like Yuvraj Singh is important to any team. He is not only a match-winner with the bat, but he is a very useful bowler in those middle overs. Going into the auction, we were aware that we needed to strengthen our middle order.”
Moody and skipper David Warner, both believe that their team has the ammunition in batting and bowling departments to make matters difficult for their rivals and isn’t far off from producing their best result in the tournament.
Last year, Sunrisers needed one win from their last two games to secure a berth in the playoffs, but lost both games.
