Fire at Jia Apartments in Mumbai Central doused, no casualties reported

The fire that broke out in Jia Apartments around noon on Friday has been successfully doused by the fire department. The blaze had started in the basement of a ground plus six-storey Jia Apartments building located at Bellasis Road, Near Anjuman Girls High School in Mumbai Central.
Officials from the fire department reached the spot at 12:28 pm and escalated the call to a Level III by 12:34 pm. A total of 15 fire engines and water tankers were pressed into service and the fire was brought under control after nearly 30 minutes of fire fghting.
Officials also managed to successfully rescue all those trapped in the top floors of the building.
No casualties were reported in the incident. Details about the cause of fire are awaited from the fire officials.
