Kohli cancels purchase of 34 crore Worli apartment, may buy penthouse in suburbs instead
In a surprise move, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli canceled the highly publicised purchase of his Rs 34 crore luxury apartment in the Omkar 1973 project located in Mumbai’s Worli area.
The tower is being built by Omkar Realtors & Developers and is among the most sought-after and premium properties in the city.
According to an Economic Times report, documents show that the cancellation deed of the apartment was prepared on March 20 and registered the next day.
The news about the purchase of Kohli’s luxury pad broke in June 2016, when media reports suggested that the ace cricketer had bought the 7000 sq.ft apartment, located on the 35th floor of Tower C, for a whopping Rs 34 crore.
The luxury apartment, according to the layout, is an open sky bungalow with four end to end walls and can be completely customized as per the buyer’s exact specifications and taste.
His team India colleague, Yuvraj Singh, had also purchased a flat in 70-storey Tower C on the 29th floor back in 2014.
After canceling the purchase, Kohli is now reportedly looking at buying a penthouse between Mumbai’s western suburbs of Bandra and Versova.
The Indian skipper recently shifted his base from Delhi to Mumbai and got married to Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in December.
Earlier this year, Kohli leased a sea-view apartment in skyscraper Raheja Legend on Worli’s Dr. Annie Besant Road for a monthly rental of Rs 15 lakh.
