Amitabh, Sehwag take potshots at Shobha De

On Friday, megastar Amitabh Bachchan and former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag indirectly took a dig at author Shobha De while congratulating Olympians on their recent performance at the Olympics in Rio.
Last week, De had mocked Indian athletes, claiming their aim was only to click selfies and return without any medal from the sporting gala. The author’s comment sparked a nationwide controversy, following which she was criticised and trolled on social media.

First, the 73-year-old actor congratulated P V Sindhu on winning the women’s badminton singles semi-finals, saying when she comes back he would like to click a selfie with her.

But, the ‘Piku’ actor wasn’t the only in the mood for wordplay. Sehwag too was in the mood for some ‘pun’. While congratulating Sakshi Malik on winning the bronze medal for India, the cricketer tweeted,
