FYJC 2016: 2nd special round merit list to be declared tomorrow
Following the completion of the form filling process on August 20, the University will be declaring the merit list of the second special round of First Year Junior College (FYJC) online admissions at 5 pm on Tuesday, August 23.
Students who were either unhappy with their existing colleges, wished to change their stream, chose a wrong subject or cleared July re-exam were eligible to participate in the second special round. For the round, candidates had to fill minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 colleges based on the updated list made available on August 16.
After the declaration of the merit list tomorrow, students will have the option of confirming admission to the allotted college on August 24 and August 25. If students had secured admission in another college prior to applying for the second special round, and have secured a better option under the its merit list, they can cancel their previous admission.
Under the first special round, 67,627 students had registered for admission, off which 59,960 were allotted seats. Out of those who were allotted seats, 44,443 confirmed their admission by the end of the admission period. However, by the end of the first special round, around 62,000 college seats are vacant across city colleges.
If there are students who have not secured a seat by the end of the second special round, the education department may announce a third special round. However, the decision on that will be taken post August 25.
